Protean Vision Quest, in this incarnation, are a group of computer animators, musicians, web designers, VJs, DJs and freaks who during the last couple of years have got together to produce Ancient Alien. The animators, who come from all over the world, produce their work at the UK National Centre for Computer Animation, and pvq now have a second nodule in Brighton.

pvq's animation has been seen all over the place: National Film Theatre, MTV, ITV, ICA, Siggraph, Imagina, Sydney Intermedia Network, Rotterdam Film Festival, Digital Dreams, Watershed, X-MIX-2 & 3, Odyssey into the Mind's Eye. Current projects include a short Synae piece in collaboration with the Arts Council, Channel 4 and Moving Picture Company.

The music for Ancient Alien was sourced from outside musicians, due to the overwhelming quality of it. Since this project, talented musicians have been emerging from pvq, including the inimitable Gnomadic and Macrocosm. Look out for a small UK label called Question releasing this stuff in 97/98.

PVQ have been doing live video and audio mixing for over five years at clubs and music events. These have included Oscillate/OSC and the Big Chill, as well as numerous small visually enticing venues.
