Taking part in this project
One of the main purposes of this Web site is to obtain material,
information and feedback for a new book I am working on about developing
evolutionary directions of the Internet.
To this end I should appreciate any feedback, criticisms or comments on
the stuff you will find in these Web pages.
To provide new and original content for the book I shall need to stimulate
and promote the development of various forms of intelligent objects and
systems on the Internet through this Web site. This will allow me to include
several actual systems to back up the theory (this Web site and the experiment
in Web communications covered in the next section will be part of this).
I should like to establish dialogues with other people who are interested
in this area so that we can cooperate together to exchange ideas, knowledge
and experience in various complimentary ways.
In particular I shall be looking to enroll the support of companies who
are already involved in this and other relevant areas of technology associated
with optimizing the use of the Internet. I should also like to include as
many different languages and authoring systems as possible.
If you have read the section on object oriented thinking you will know that
a program of this sort cannot be specified or stipulated from the start.
It has to grow and evolve with no central decision making person or organization
dictating the progress or direction - it isn't even necessary to have a
central fixed base.
I expect that at some stage a SIG list serve discussion forum will be set
up but I should also like to experiment with alternative techniques for
facilitating the exchange of information between people with a common field
of interest (see the page on speculations).
So as not to leave this future stuff completely in the air, here are a few
of the areas which I intend looking into for the purpose of my new book:
- Object oriented Web sites
- Info bot applications
- Intelligent Web systems
- Complex multi object Web buggies
- Buggy Experiments
- Combining logical and emotive control systems
- Cooperative evolutionary projects
- Experimenting with genetic algorithms and AI mechanisms
- Integrating Intranets with CD-ROMs
- Integrating track zero productions with the Web
- Combining intelligent Web agents with custom CD-ROMs
- Using various different authoring packages and programming languages
- Using intelligent agents for marketing on the Web
- Using intelligent agents for Web based games
- Using intelligent agents for Education
- Web based services using intelligent agents
Up to date details on the progress of these and any other projects
can be obtained at any time by sending a blank email with the key word sorceryProjects
