"Spot has a sensitivity and insight devoid of sentimentality, which is rare these days, and he manages to escape the macho posturing all too common in male writing."
-Joolz

"Shattered" is a new collection of work by one of Britains best performance poets. Spots poetry is accessible, but never patronising to its audience. Spot is clearly furious about the state of the nation as we approach the millennium, but this is no frail call to arms or ideological polemic. Rather, he recognises life as it is lived and as he sees others live it, both bitter and sweet and never as you expect it. His work is sensitive and perceptive, but it pulls no punches. While some of these (true) stories will have you close to tears, others will make you laugh.

Spot has been performing his poetry for the last two years, and has toured extensively with Joolz and Chumbawamba. In his spare time he works with homeless people in Leeds, cycles, climbs and rides his motorbike. He is also a qualified masseur.
